Decode mixed-up letters into valid words
About Word Unscrambler Pro
Hand you a jumble of letters and you will find every real word hiding inside. Our Word Unscrambler Pro takes any combination of up to 15 letters and reveals all valid English words you can build from them. Unlike a simple anagram finder that only shows same-length results, the unscrambler finds words of ALL lengths from your letter set. Perfect for Scrabble, Words With Friends, or any time you need to decode a pile of letters.

Unscrambling Techniques
- Start with 2-letter words: There are roughly 100 valid 2-letter words in English — they are easy points in word games
- Look for prefixes: UN-, RE-, PRE-, DIS- are common starting patterns hidden in scrambled letters
- Check for -S plurals: If your letters include S, many results will be plural forms of shorter words
- Use blanks strategically: Adding a # blank dramatically increases results since it can be any letter
- Sort by length: Longer words usually score more points in word games, so check the longest first
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between unscrambling and anagram solving?
An anagram rearranges ALL letters into one word (LISTEN becomes SILENT). Unscrambling finds every valid word of ANY length from your letters. If you enter LISTEN, the unscrambler finds LISTEN, SILENT, TILES, LIST, TEN, and dozens more.
How many words can I find from 7 letters?
Typically 80-250 valid words, depending on the letter combination. Common letters like E, A, T, R produce more results. Our solver searches the complete dictionary for every valid combination.
Can I use wildcard letters?
Yes, use # for a blank/wildcard that can represent any letter. This dramatically increases the number of possible words but wildcards score 0 points in word games.
Which word games does this work for?
The unscrambler works for Scrabble, Words With Friends, Lexulous, Word Chums, Wordfeud, and any word game that involves making words from a set of letters. Change the scoring system in options to match your game.
